Ali Riaz provide hands-on strategic advice on all aspects of the business including fundraising, sales and marketing, channel development and product strategy. Riaz has extensive experience propelling early-stage companies into large, corporate leaders. At Attivio, as the founder and CEO, Riaz was responsible for defining and executing vision and strategy for the company whose core product, Active Intelligence Engine™ (AIE), is the leading unified information access platform. Prior to Attivio, Riaz was COO and president of global enterprise search company Fast Search & Transfer (FAST). In 2008, Microsoft Corporation acquired FAST for $1.2 billion. Riaz has held executive positions at Novartis (Switzerland) and CSC (England).
Sanket Akerkar currently is the General Manager - Sales, Worldwide Enterprise and Partner Group at Microsoft. In his role on the board, Akerkar provides strategic sales and go to market guidance as well as aides in the development of a worldwide partner channel for InterChange. For the past 12 years, Akerkar has held several senior sales and marketing positions at Microsoft. In these positions his responsibilities include growing the direct sales and marketing operations, driving strategic partnerships and alliances with global platform partners, channel partners, OEMs, and the system builder community. Akumina benefits from the best practices advice Akerkar is able to offer based on this extensive experience.
Paul Houghton provides strategic guidance in helping Akumina build strong relationships across the Microsoft ecosystem. Houghton’s experience includes 23 years at Microsoft in numerous executive-level roles, leading teams focused on building strong customer and partner relationships. These positions included General Manager for the Greater China Region, Enterprise & Partner Group. In this leadership role he was responsible for the overall strategy and business operations of the large enterprise, customer segment. Houghton was most recently President America's Region for SITA, a multinational information technology company providing IT and telecommunication services to the air transport industry. SITA services over 430 members and 2,800 customers worldwide which is around 90% of the world's airline business.
Ed leads Akumina with a hands-on approach formed from 13 years in both Technical and Executive management roles at Ektron. He has built on his experiences as a software engineer and architect to form a deep understanding of how business needs intersect with technology to create innovative solutions. Prior to his role as Chief Operating Officer at Ektron Ed was Chief Software Architect at TeleHomeCare at Global Telemedix, and held Senior Software Engineering roles at Zydacron and Bruker Instruments.
Steven brings 20 years of marketing leadership expertise to Akumina, most recently heading the global marketing initiatives at Ektron since 2005 and responsible for establishing Ektron as a Web Content Management market leader. Steven has an unmatched understanding of digital marketing strategies and the ability to align web technology to deliver measurable marketing results. Prior to Ektron Steven held senior marketing roles with Qvidian, CMGi, Omtool and Sage Software.
